
Dr Elvira Bardon, Research Doctor
Dr Elvira Bardon is a General Practitioner who divides her time between Erina (Central Coast) and Sydney. She is one of the principals of a private multidisciplinary women's health clinic at Erina and a VMO at Gosford, North Gosford and Berkeley Vale Private Hospital where she works as surgical assistant in Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Urology. Elvira has a longstanding interest in menopause (Foundation Member of the Australian Menopause Society) and is a clinician at the Sydney Menopause Centre at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, NSW. For the last two years she has been a member of the education Subcommittee of the Australasian Menopause Society. She is a Visiting Medical Officer with the Sexual Assault Service, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (Forensic examinations and expert witness in Court). She is a conjoint lecturer at the University of Newcastle, involved in undergraduate and post graduate education.
Her other interests include mental health, in particular the use of cognitive behaviour therapies in the treatment of anxiety and depression. As an active member of the Central Coast Division of General Practice Elvira is involved on the Steering Committee for "Better Outcomes in Mental Health" and the Committee for Sexual Health Education where she is responsible for providing educational activities for both General Practitioners and community groups. Elvira is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners and is a Senior Examiner at the College Examinations.
