Dr Joanna Hatzistergos is a gynaecologist who has an interest in the management of women with Asherman syndrome, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding and vulval disorders.

Dr Hatzistergos completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales, graduating with Distinction in 2015. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynaecology core training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, and completed a Master’s of Reproductive Medicine with Excellence from the University of New South Wales during her training. She undertook a fellowship in gynaecology and women’s pain management at the Royal Hospital for Women and WHRIA. During this fellowship she has gained additional skills in the management of pelvic pain conditions, menopause and vulval disorders. She has also attained specialised knowledge about the diagnosis and surgical treatment of Asherman Syndrome under the mentorship of Clinical Professor Vancaillie.

Dr Hatzistergos has presented at national and international conferences, and has published original research in medical journals. She is currently involved in research projects related to Asherman syndrome and persistent pelvic pain. She is involved in medical student teaching at the Royal Hospital for Women as a Conjoint Associate lecturer at the University of New South Wales.
