Gynaecologist & Pain Medicine Fellow
Dr Joanna Hatzistergos is a gynaecology and pain management fellow, who will complete FRANZCOG training at the end of 2026.
Dr Hatzistergos completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales, graduating with Distinction in 2015. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynaecology core training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, and completed a Masters of Reproductive Medicine with Excellence from University of New South Wales during her training. In 2025-26 she has been undertaking a fellowship in gynaecology and women’s pain management at the Royal Hospital for Women and WHRIA. During this fellowship she has gained additional skills in the management of Asherman syndrome, pelvic pain, menopause and vulval disorders. She will complete FRANZCOG training including Pelvic Pain Special Interest Module at the end of 2026.
Dr Hatzistergos has presented at national and international conferences, and has published original research in medical journals. She is currently involved in research projects related to Asherman syndrome and chronic pelvic pain. She is involved in medical student teaching at the Royal Hospital for Women as a Conjoint Associate lecturer at the University of New South Wales.
